Merry Christmas friends and family. Alison and I received the very best of gifts this Christmas. our identical twin sons are home with us! Ali and i gave the boys a bath yesterday (found out they too love the hair dryer!) as we talked about this past year, we reflected on our marriage and the the fact that Jesus Christ, our Lord would trust us with not one life but two, our humility and reliance on Christ has never been greater. this past year we found that prayer and asking for others to pray over an issue for you is a true connection to Christ.
my wife surprised me with a gift from the twins last night, a Kennith Cole watch, thanks snugs! she and i made a promise that with the economy in the shape it is in, we would consider the birth of our sons our gifts to one another this year! however, i have a little something planned for the two of us in the next couple of months!
The boys are doing great!! What a blessing they are in our lives. Ethan now weighs 6 pounds 5 ounces and Eli weighs 5 pounds 3 ounces. They are both good little eaters, especially my little Ethan. He would never want to miss a feeding! Ha! They both are grunters. It is hilarious. Although Eli's sounds a little bit more like a mouse. So far we have pretty chill babies. Ethan is usually pretty content and falls asleep on his own after feedings in the night. Eli is also pretty chill, although can find his voice when he wants to. He really likes his mommy to hold him. We are so excited to continue to get to know them and can't wait to see more and more of their distinct personalities emerge. We have determined that Ethan has moms nose and Eli has dad's. Mom also thinks that they both have Quinns fingers and toes. OHH so cute. We just love them to pieces. Our Christmas miracles.
Everyone is asking about Chesney and hank our dogs and how they have been doing since we introduced them to the twins. i believe that dogs have an instinct greater than our understanding, not to mention we prayed for God's grace with our whole family, which includes our dogs, and i am pleased to report, they have been the best they have ever been, not kidding. they sleep together, check on the twins smell them and then give mom and me the ok! they are very calm, and together make a great team, keeping the other entertained. i walk them every other day, and we have a park in our neighborhood for them to run freely. so yes, we are keeping them, dogs are not something you get rid of because things have changed, like anything else you love, you help them to adapt to the new surroundings.
Family, there is a saying... "you can pick your friends but not your family" well that is a gift in my opinion, because Alison and i could not have picked a better family. her family has bee so supportive along with mine! Christy Ron Cassie Carly Nicky John, Mike Court Grace Jack Jack, Dave Sally, Heather Eve Andy, Cheryl MS Kelly Jacob JB, Grandparents Bowman Shepherd Polley, AW Judy... we have to name you to thank you for feeding us, cleaning up for us, allowing us to sleep, sharing family videos, laughing, holding twins, cooking, laundry, just hanging out! you all have helped more than words or gifts could show. ( We are planning a trip to Indy in the upcoming month. Most likely at the end of Jan. We will keep you all posted!)
well... you have a very Merry Christmas! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!
